The Stornelli’s SUNSET DRIVE-IN

The SUNSET DRIVE-IN was opened in 1950 by Alex Stornelli in scenic Middleport, New York (Niagara County).  Conveniently located between Rochester and Buffalo, not far from Brockport, Batavia, and Lockport, the SUNSET DRIVE-IN is only a short drive away.  In the 1950’s and 1960’s, SUNSET DRIVE-IN guests were greeted by Alex’s pet monkey ‘Chi Chi’, the SUNSET DRIVE-IN fire truck provided rides, and even hosted go-cart racing.  While the SUNSET DRIVE-IN started with only a single screen - using 35mm nitrocellulose film, buried speaker wire, and mono window speakers - we recently upgraded to 3 high definition digital projectors and high fidelity stereo FM sound.  The SUNSET DRIVE-IN offers a unique entertainment experience - enjoy new movie releases on the big screen, under the stars, with family and friends.  More than 50 years later, Mario and Denise Stornelli continue the SUNSET DRIVE-IN tradition of affordable entertainment and fine food.  Their son, Christopher Stornelli, owns and operates SUNSET TWISTERS Ice Cream Shop beside screen one.  SUNSET TWISTERS offers a variety of soft and hard ice creams, shakes, floats, sundays, and more. Thank you for your patronage - the SUNSET DRIVE-IN
